The magnetite ore is dark brown to blackish in colour and is termed 'black ore'. Here ferrous content is often 60 per cent and reaching up to the maximum of 72 percent. The ore is either of igneous origin or metamorphosed bandedmagnetite silica formations, probably of sedimentary ore is the raw material used to make pig iron, which is one of the main raw materials to make steel.
